Someone keyed my car last night.

I am so disgusted and furious, I figured I could vent about it here. I have 2 stickers on the back of my car, one that reads PROUD with the Obama logo as the O, and the other one is just a 2012 Obama sticker. Nothing obnoxious about republicans or anything like that, just plain support of my president. This morning I came out to find deep, long scratches on the back between the two Obama stickers. As if I didn't despise repukes enough, I get a reminder of how vile and evil they are. No matter how much you disagree with someone's politics you don't vandalize their property for fuck's sake. Just seething here.

If you honestly think this isn't about hatred of Obama, then you're giving republicans FAR too much credit.

Sorry your car got keyed...some assholes are out of control. That's why I don't put any signs in my yard or stickers on my car because these lunatics are everywhere..especially where I live.

But my rethug friends have had their cars keyed as well or signs stolen from their yards. It is society in general, imho, that is becoming intolerant of each other's views.

Like you, I tend to be very discrete about my political leanings, and I'm in a fairly blue state. Even in the deep blue portions of Maryland, you can't go very far without running into a wingnut.

I truly wish it WERE more likely to be personal rather than politically motivated. But, I dare say if you polled DUers, few would agree that your scenario is the most likely, given the sticker.

That is an indication, although not absolute proof. Every time I have seen or heard of a car being keyed it was along the side. This appears calculated.

it will likely be keyed or worse. My car was not only keyed a few years ago, the tire was punctured. Republicans are childish assholes at best, and on average they are jack-booted thugs.

I learned the hard way years ago, when a jeep I was driving with a collegiate tire cover was absolutely destroyed. All four tires (AND THE SPARE) slashed and keyed around its entire periphery... Over a damned collegiate rivalry?

A very large segment of our society is out of control.

People need to get a damn grip. What the hell is wrong with these people? In all the years of Bush, who I hated more than anyone, truly, I never vandalized anyone's car or even had a rude insulting bumpersticker about him. Ugh, this just disgusts me so much.

Well, they're not going to get a grip, unfortunately.

Sorry to read of your misfortune. I live in red hell and only use magnets that I can remove when my truck is parked and unattended.

Other than required by the State of Texas, or my required Parking Stickers.

My attitude is that there are too many kooks out there today. Why take a chance on suffering thousands of dollars of expenses? Or worse get threatened by some nut?

I was insulting Mittens or anything. I have seen REALLY awful antri-Obama stickers that offend me a lot but I don't go around keying the car. I saw one just yesterday that read "My labrador is smarter than your President". Fucking ASSHOLES.
