If John Kerry is chosen as SoS or Defense Secretary

I think Deval Patrick (our governor) should give up his governership and let Tim Murray(Lt. Governor) take over for a couple of years, and Patrick runs for the open senate seat, against Brown.

He has a political machine here in MA, he can take the fight to Brown.

I think it's a pretty good possibility that Brown will be given the nod by the repubs in the state to run again. I think Deval Patrick will give us our best shot.

We'll live through that. We can't afford to send a republican to the senate. Plus, even if you feel Murray is weak, he will have two years as governor under his belt.....

I just think that Deval Patrick gives us our best shot.

I really do think Brown will run again and I think he could have a good shot. People don't hate him here. That's a fact. He has a base of Dems indies and repubs that will vote for him.

Do not count that guy out. It will be a fight and we need to put up a really good candidate.

He remains popular, in spite of his loss to Elizabeth Warren.

Tim Murray, with his rather recent episodes, isn't my idea of someone I'd like to see running for governor.

You have to understand MA.

People just like Elizabeth Warren more. They did not HATE Scott Brown.

No matter what Democrats still need to put someone up to run against him.

Deval would be a slam dunk, imho.

They should not want him representing them.

I agree with this comment: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1807253

Why the hell would anyone vote for someone who doesn't support them?

A lot of people said they were duped by Brown. What would be the basis of trusting him again?

I can't stand his guts, but he has a base of supporters, he was senator prior, and people will want to give him a chance, especially if he is running against an unknown.

He has a big name here and we need someone bigger.

Not saying they couldn't, but it would look like dems were using their majority to subvert the will of the voters.

as some one pointed above, Brown is still popular and the Lt Governor is basically an effing asshole.

We were warned about Arizona when Obama took Napolitano from her Governorship and was replaced by the crazed lunatic Jan Brewer. Look where Arizona is today, look at all the crazy laws they have passed and are still suppressing the votes over there, all I'm saying is, let's not give these bat shit crazies platform to peddle their crazy laws, please.

And I think the President is well aware of that. He needs a strong majority in the Senate. Sorry, ProSense, I'M NOT CRITICIZING THE PRESIDENT (since you appear to be his Avenger). And yes, I voted for the President and drove people to the polls to vote for the President in a red state, so back away from the caffeine.

I'm thrilled beyond words that Obama won. And I'll be thrilled for Kerry to remain in the Senate where he is NEEDED. We DON'T need him as SOS.
