Fire Works

"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." -- Lao Tzu

The air quality in upstate New York has been poor the last few days, and so I have spent more hours inside than I normally would. Being old, I find if I spend much time in the garden, I get a headache. Not that it is healthy for young folks to breathe this. So, in between short periods in the garden, feeding the animals domestic and wild, and going out to enjoy the fire flies at night, I've stayed inside.

This gave me a chance to spend more time in the last 24 hours to read and think about OP/threads on DU:GD. One in particular that I found interesting had to do with the defendent's vile hatred of Barack Obama. Now, the defendent does not believe that non-white human beings are as intelligent or capable as white men. Thus, his earlier focus on trying to prove Obama was not born in the United States, and had not earned his university degrees.

The defendent is jealous not only of President Obama being significantly better educated, but of his speaking abilities, be it in an interview or major speech. Add to this that the defendent's favorite tactic against opponents is to humiliate them one stage. Think of Jeb Bush or any of a number of "nasty" women. Then watch this:

For the twelve years since, the defendent's hatred of President Obama has only grown. His lack of understanding of how the federal government works convinced him that President Obama "tapped" his phone -- a paranoid, hold-over fear from his relationship with Roy Cohn. He still believes this today.

Indeed, the defendent is convinced that the two people who, from behind the curtains, are in control of his legal problems are Obama and Clinton. Now, keep in mind that the defendent is a sociopath, and as such, will have longer and more frequent episodes in his melt-down this summer. I will suggest that evidence of his delusions of being persecuted by President Obama will find expression in the coming moths will be how often he attempt's a dog whistle to his most unhinged followers by using Barack's middle name.

The greater the pressure becomes, the larger the defendent will view it as a conspiracy against him. For he lacks the capacity to grasp that he does not have the "right" to break the law. He will continue to believe he is being betrayed by "rats" ..... consider, for example, how his brain processes Rudy Giuliani and Michael Roman, upon advice from lawyers, making proffers to Jack Smith's team investigating attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.

Now, there have been numerous discussions on the pace of the DOJ investigation, with a wide range of opinions expressed. Everyone has exactly the same right to their opinion, as I have to mine. But I will note that I recently disagreed with a community member who said that approaching the investigation in the classic pyramid model was an error. Rudy and Roman are, by definition, level two. This, despite Roman being relatively unknown to the public.

While we all want to see some better known ass-clowns such as Roger Stone and Steve Bannon prosecuted, they are level three. Rudy and Roman are able to identify the criminal behaviors of other level two participants -- including Meadows and a cluster of lawyers -- as well as the specific behaviors of the defendent that influenced them.

As citizens, this leaves us two options. The first is to be upset that the investigations and indictments have not, and are not, going in the way that we wish the would. The second is to relax and enjoy how this is unfolding. And to keep in mind that as the defendent experiences his melt down, and sees a growing number of people "betraying" him in a "massive conspiracy," he will always believe that Barack Obama is at the nucleus, calling all the shots. For President Obama is the man that the defendent wishes he could be.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

2016 presidential campaign, the FBI was looking into the connections between a couple of his campaign members' connections with Russian sources. The defendent himself was not being investigated by the FBI until after he was presient, and fired Comey. But you are correct -- if one does not discuss criminal activities on the telephone, there is no cause for concern about those calls being accessed, though "tapping" is a technology that really isn't used these days.

It happened quite a few times, and provided a good opportunity to really capture the audience's attention. Plus perhaps their sympathy, as I would respond politely at first.

I also think that he and those around him are very cognizant of the need to feed the maul of the deplorable hordes. Keep throwing hunks of raw meat to them to keep them focused. Makes me remember the images of him throwing paper towels to brown people - probably a conscious reverse "raw meat" action.

I like my 4th of July's quiet at home. We're somewhat isolated in the north woods of Vermont but there are still enough yahoos in large homes on the hillsides that like to show off their "prowess" with ridiculous displays of made-in-china noise.

The highest concentration -- besides that of the defendent -- seems to be the republicans from the House. So much so, in fact, that one might wonder if they are sitting on a hot seat as the investigation includes a number of the people speaking to the investigators and the grand jury.

It was fairly quiet here last night. The noises were muffled. When I noticed that even muffled noise was bugging the dog, I put on the Beatles at a low-to-medium level, and that took care of that.

Sun Jul 2, 2023, 02:39 PM
Jul 2023

He most definitely is a malignant narcissist and a pathological liar who will say anything in the moment to advance a narrative he thinks serves his interests. Quite often he hammers away at the same mendacious narrative over and over again, for repetition is a key strategy for making Big Lies accepted as truth.

It's entirely possible he believes President Obama tapped his phone, because that is something he and his mentor Roy Cohn would do. So many accusations hurled by the right are either knowingly false, or projection. To actually believe Obama and Clinton are currently pulling the levers of his "persecution" by the Justice Dept would, indeed, be delusional.

The mental pathologies of this creature will continue to be a subject of analysis long after he's gone. Knowing he is a pathological liar makes it difficult to ascertain what he really believes, but we can clearly see the meltdown in real time as some of the dialogue most damaging to the defendant in the documents case has been coming from his own lips.

While I am not overly anxious about the pace of the investigations I am still concerned about the outcome, so I can't "relax and enjoy" this dangerous chapter in the life of our republic. Heading into the 2024 election, the scope of the danger extends far beyond the fortunes of the defendant.

Sun Jul 2, 2023, 06:04 PM

one can learn how sociopaths' brains work, study years of public statements and behaviors on their part, and thus be able to identify what they think. With the defendent, for but one example, he is compulsive in projecting outward what at some levels he is aware of internally. In other instances, there are more direct ways, such as when the defendent said "those documents are mine." Per his concepts regarding "race," one can look back at hisasking, "Where's my black?" at a rally. Thus, I'm comfortable regarding his recent emphasis on President Obama's middle name, as it holds great significance to him.

I do not keep notes on his public statements, of course, but have heard him talk about President Obama tapping his phone and stressing his middle name recently. I do not think it is difficult to assess either how he thinks, or what he fears and how that motivates his behaviors. Indeed, his pathologies were remarkably well detailed in Dr. Bandy Lee's book, "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump," by Bandy and 36 other mental health experts. He is not that different than a number of the sociopaths I dealt with in the county jail for years, and just as predictable. The only distinction between the defendent and those guys is the socio-economic class each was born in.

The biggest issue in 2024 -- in my opinion -- is how hard the grass roots works to get the vote out. And that obviously includes not allowing the party to be divided, since we always win presidential elections when we are united, and always lose when there are petty divisions.

which is why Obama sent so many otherwise sensibly apolitical white people into the grabby hands of TFG.

Obama was intelligent, educated, urbane. Every white guy they knew was, er, not so much. Of course they fell for Obama's exact opposite in their sloppy way of thinking.

The funny thing is that if Obama hadn't been tacky enough to be born with brown skin, they'd have loved him. Instead, he knocked white men off the pedestals they'd never really earned. That was a disaster to a lot of people.

I just hope our boring and capable old white man can topple their lunatic, Russian asset old white man once again, sending him off to face his lawsuits, criminal charges, and ultimate obscurity as the country tries to get its equilibrium back.

One part of that process is persuading people it's OK to come back from the far fringes while pushing men like Bannon and Stone out there where they belong. The former will be a slow process, while the latter has been largely accomplished.

I don't know what will happen with all the legal woes heaped on TFG and his staff, having the charges filed at all was the important part of this process. The hard work has been done, the worst president in history has been charged.

I do hope the GOP primary fight is as nasty as it can get and leads to fistfights on the convention floor.

They like their presidents to be malleable, subject to innuendos and subtle commands. I'm sure there's some type of intelligence comparison run between the (R) and (D) presidents over the years.

I'm trying to think of who the smartest (R) has been since I've been alive (70+ years). Eisenhower? The RW moneybags don't want smart presidents.

When looking at the (D) presidents, it's hard to say who was/is the smartest. They all shine.

He's ten months old now, and as they live fairly vlose by, I see him most days. And I do worry about the world he will grow up in. And very measured and careful when he speaks. That's probably why there were zero ethical issues when he was president.

which is another reason why the Slobfather hates him. Obama actually knows what he's talking about. And Christiane Amanpour does some of the best interviews.

He is, of course, smarter than the defendent, and thus understands how to commit corrupt acts without getting caught.

There has never been anyone so unprepared to serve as president than the defendent. It isn't limited to his not having a clue about how the federal system is intended to work, since his only connections to politics had been donating to various campaigns in hope of getting favors. But he was convinced that the presidence gave him powers that it absolutely didn't. Thus his failed term in office. I'm sure that you are right, that he was looking for dirt on his "enemies." I wonder if he kept an "enemies list" like Nixon did?

I may have mentioned that I like the sport of boxing. I believe that the video shows one of the most brutal "knockouts" in history. And President Obama delivered it with a smile!

but that Slobby is a stable genius because his uncle was an academic at MIT. The Slobfather is stark raving mad - delusional on steroids.
