Patraeus: Move on, nothing to see here.
Which suddenly leaves me convinced that there IS something to see here.

(29,223 posts)starting with a rogue FBI guy hoping to embarrass the President before an election so he opens an investigation for a FRIEND!
and the new commander in Afghanistan possibly having an affair with the same FRIEND and writing 30,000 pages of email to her!
And Patraeus having conservative think tank idiots ON THE BATTLEFIELD advising the general and the army, sometimes countermanding orders!
And Repuke leaders of congress KNOWING about all this well before the election but NOT the White House or the Democratic leaders in congress (especially the Senate Intelligence committee)!!!!
And there will be more, so much more... no wonder those who thought this was going to be a blow to the beginning of the second term for President Obama are now retreating rapidly saying "personal moral misbehavior" and "all powerful men have affairs" and "nothing to see here"!!!!

(269,157 posts)Had Rmoney won, they would have covered this up.
Sandy killed their plans and I'm beginning to understand Rove's meltdown on election night - it wasn't jsut about blowing money - this was always going to unravel if they lost.
This is treasonous shit here and it's time to crush these scumbag ReTHUGbugs.

(31,706 posts)...and how many shoes are left to drop? Honestly, I'm still trying to keep up here with whose boofed who and whose in bed with who (politically and otherwise) in what sure looks like another classic beltway sexual scandal. But...there are some interesting loose ends that will be interesting to see unfold over the days and weeks ahead.
Petraeus has always been the right wing's golden boy...and it was seen as a smart move by President Obama to keep him "under wraps" at the CIA than on the campaign trail the past year. Many in the rushpublican party...especially the neo-cons had long seen Petreus as the next "war hero/leader"...and in the wake of last week's blow out, his star surely would have risen amid the chaos that is the leaderless (except for hate radio) rushpublican party.
Initially the denizens of Bullshit Mountain were hoping they could tie this into Benghazi and into their narrative that President Obama was criminally negligent (or enough to embarrass him in the election and/or play impeachment games). Now the pieces of a rear-guard action against the President for political purposes is coming to light...and at a bad time for the neo-cons. They're about to lose their golden boy and, if they not careful, to have a far bigger scandal blow up in their faces. It's like a whole bunch of bad karma has hit the rushpublicans all at once (and deserved!!).
You know when they say "it's a personal matter" these hyenas of morality have gotten themselves stuck in yet another mess of their own making.

(31,706 posts)...anything that reminds people of his corrupt brother and the messes he created will be a liability for Jebbie. With the way this party has gone off the rails, I'm not so sure Jebbie will survive another clown car demolition derby primary season.
I don't see this as the number one cause, but a benefit to other matters. Not cause but side benefit, might as well take down the competition early when you have the opportunity.

(2,679 posts)Joe looks like he wants this to stop. Which does lead me to believe there is a scandal only it involves his team not the other side like they want you to believe. I mean if it was known in the summer and Cantor knew before the election, why didn't he leak it to his red propaganda noise machine? I bet it would be more damaging to his side then the other side so he did nothing.
I want to know... what did Eric Cantor know, when did he know it, and why did he know it before chairs on security counsels and even the President knew? I want to answers to those questions more then what did Obama know.
the right wing entertainment industry complex will do one of few things soon. 1. Drop the story as more of their bosses (bosses=re-poops that pay the bills at fox) are implicated. Or 2. Continue with the tin hat conspiracy stories and blame it on bigfoot being mad because the moon walk never happened apparently he is huge nasa fan and his snub for this years whitehouse beings from outer space appreciation dinner.

(1,446 posts)They couldn't shut their mouths about it. it was the lead story for days and they truly beat it into the ground. Now, we have a 4-star general, head of the CIA with access to incredible amount of classified information who allegedly gave his mistress access to that classified information, and we should just let it drop. There is no doubt that this story is going to hit them hard and they know it.
