GOP gains supermajorities in Indiana House and Senate

When Indiana lawmakers meet for the next session of the Indiana General Assembly Republicans will be holding all of power.

Not only will Republican Mike Pence be sitting in the governor's office, but the party will hold super-majorities in both the House of Representatives and the State Senate.

... During the last session of the General Assembly, House Democrats, in an act of desperation, walked out and wound up in Illinois.

The move did not turn out to be a good one politically because now Republicans hold such a majority they can conduct their business without the Democrats even showing up.

Indiana is the most southern state in the Midwest

I should know I was born and raised there and still live there.

I have a southern accent to boot.

I'm sure they will refuse to create a state exchange for health care. So the federal government will do it for them. The state residents will benefit. May some minds be changed? Perhaps...
