Gotta love Gawker...they find some crazy stories...
Upset over the result of last week's presidential election, an Arizona woman ran over her husband with her car, believing him to be directly responsible for Obama's reelection because he didn't vote.
According to police in Gilbert, 28-year-old Holly Solomon of Mesa and her husband Daniel argued loudly in a local parking lot before Holly got in her Jeep SUV and began chasing Daniel around. She eventually managed to pin him underneath the vehicle as he was trying to run away.
Daniel sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
"According to Daniel, Holly believed her family was going to face hardship as a result of President Obama's re-election," Gilbert police Sergeant Jesse Sanger said in a statement.

(54,065 posts)I mean, obviously she has other problems. But people suffering from out of control stress and delusions (and, I'm guessing, a bit of substance abuse in this case) get triggered by the insatiable harping, scare-mongering, apocalyptic talk from the right wing noise machine. The colliding forces of their mental instability, the life-stresses their instabilities aggravate, and the blame-obsession from right wing talkers giving the mentally ill something scary to fixate on, push people like her and that other Arizona RW-crazed killer over the edge.
And it's apparently Arizona is pretty toxic, politically speaking. I think "Arizona" is a Hopi word meaning "loonier than fucking Florida". So, maybe she's responsible for her actions, in the legal sense. But part of me wants to point my finger all Fallwell like at the monsters of hate who push people like this to edge, and say to the scare mongers, "I blame you."

(12,958 posts)I remember one RW lady who told me that she wouldn't allow her husband watch the movie "Blackhawk Down" because she was afraid he would fly off in a rage and destroy their television.
Right wing talking points, the wrecking ball of minds..

Even though filled with plenty of crackpots, there were some genuinely awesome people there at the time. I kinda miss that.
