Time to stop, children whats that sound?

If you think the election is over, think again. Most thought it was over in 08, didn't show up in 10 and we got our asses kicked. The right are soooo pissed off now that they are going to try and hit us hard in the near future, and will not stop. We must stay committed, involved and on guard. The passed week I have heard so many comments about " that God damned Ni**er getting re-elected" that I know they will be active, desperate and will stop at nothing to destroy the gains that we have made. Now is not the time to stand down and enjoy our victories. We, especially the young and disenfranchised must fight to protect the hill. The battle is not over, it has just begun!

one of the older people here, and I can tell you what I wish people had told me years ago: The battle is never over. And we can never stop fighting for what is good and true and right.

The election was over in 2008. There was another election in 2010, and so on.

By "election" you mean an ongoing political process... something of which everyone is aware, but that nobody calls an election because it isn't an election.

So it is an odd word choice, but one that does allow you to disagree vehemently with people who haven't said anything disagreeable.

Is there a list somewhere of people who have said the are relieved that they never have to vote again?

No, there was a feeling by many in this country had after the 08 election that we had "turned the corner" that we had elected our first black President and that our job was done, that America's future was now somehow changed for the better from now on. Then they sat out. They were wrong. They must remain active and fight just as hard in the off year elections as in the big ones. If not, we take one step forward and one step back and never move anywhere.
