Why do right-wingers try so hard to prove that mass shooters are not like them?

The Allen, Texas mass shooter, Mauricio Garcia, was a huge fan of Nazis, white-supremacist ideology, and race wars. My right-wing boss almost immediately stated that the shooter was "dark skinned" and the shooting was retaliation for the subway murder of a homeless Black man in New York. Never mind that the motivation makes zero sense. Right-wingers will furiously try to change the subject of white supremacy when associated with (and it usually is) mass shootings. They will never denounce white supremacy is wrong or denounce apocalyptic race war ideologies. Why? Because they believe them to be true. They are ideologies they not only accept but embrace.

Aric Toler put together a devastating collection of proof of Garcia's embrace of white supremacist ideology, which the shooter documented with hundreds of posts and photos detailing his connection to the right wing.

An avowed white supremacist in Texas with Nazi tattoos did this to avenge the death of a Black homeless man in NYC?

Your boss actually believes that? I'm so sorry that you have to put up with that.

It’s minorities that are the problem. No minorities, no White supremacy.

were yelling about, "I guess now the Democrats will want to ban Range Rovers." It was as predictable as the sun rise. That came after dead silence on the mass shooting; no mention, at all on either of the two biggest gun forums in the country. I have read post that claimed that all of the mass shootings the past few years were done by liberals...(no shit) Of course, these liberal shooters, and the press that covers them, are all a part of a great conspiracy to "take their guns" through false-flag operations; the pitiful part is the numbers of them who really believe that.

Many hard right-wingers are torn between the adulation of Nazis and the fear of being found out being Nazi sympathizers. Closet Nazis are the backbone of the Republican Party. There are less of them than they want to believe, but more of them than we would like to believe. So many patriots...

...if they were not stopped by others from killing more. Why else have so much ammo? Some of these sick fucks are keeping "kill counts."

At the rate they are offing themselves, it seems they would run out of stooges in a while. One RWDS dead, takes 8 people with him. That ratio cannot last long, but they will cause a ton of mayhem in the interim.

That assault rifle killed 8 people and critically wounded another 7 in less than 3 minutes. If we didn't allow people to buy weapons of war and stockpile thousands of rounds of ammunition, lock and load 30-to-45-round magazines, and fulfill their sick neo-Nazi fantasies by slaughtering innocent people at a mall, including those sweet babies in the picture while we bemoan the "lone-wolf-crazy-bad-guy-with-gun" and send useless thoughts and prayers it would be much more difficult for "mentally ill," (I assume you include white supremacy, misogyny, Neo-Nazis, and racism as categories of mental illness because Mauricio was into all those things) madmen to do this...every day...In America.

No other country in the world has anywhere near the number of mass shootings than we do in America. Not one. There have been 199 mass shootings in America in 2023 alone. Today is the 129th day of the year. That is more than one every day. The rest of the world has mentally ill people. They just don't arm them with high-capacity killing machines with fewer and fewer restrictions like we do here in 'Murica! Australia had one mass school shooting in 1996 and then promptly banned the type of weapon the mass murderer used. They haven't had one since. America has a school shooting every few weeks. And we do nothing because innocent children's lives are not as important as the unfettered right to worship guns.

Let me ask you something. I assume you are a Second Amendment supporter. Do you think we should limit any type of "arm" that Americans should be able to bear? Should the craziest person in your community be able to buy a fragmentation grenade, surface-to-air missile, M61 Vulcan machine gun, bomb drones, bio-weapons, or nukes? Because all of those are "arms" the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed (forget that well-regulated militia part). Should guns be allowed at Trump rallies and the NRA convention (they aren't). I will believe Republican politicians believe that the right to bear arms is absolute when they allow them into their workplaces with no restrictions the way they allow them at malls, movie theaters, grocery stores, parks, and public streets.

The next mass shooter is planning a massacre right now. He is assisted in gaining the tools he will use to slaughter as many people as possible by people who make inane arguments and laws that put the blame on everything but the gun of choice of mass murderers.

Even among the worst of the authoritarian MAGA mob, the millions who don't go kill others are VERY different from those who plan and do.

One huge reason behind that is that for by far most their hostility is heavily based on FEAR, not the extremism and extreme hate and mental issues of mass killers. They've been lead to believe they're under attack and they need to stop us before we hurt THEM, but they worry at home just like us.

FEAR OF MANY MILLIONS vs RAGE AND HATE OF RELATIVE FEW vs A TINY FEW WHO KILL.

INACTION OF MANY MILLIONS vs PLANNED ACTION BY A TINY FEW.

Oh, and half of RWers are only half-ass MAGA or hardly at all. People who will act with us to put our nation back together are in that group.

My favorite local highway sign simply tells the world, "It's going to be okay." Our nation's fix is in that message.
