"They" Misunderstood the Aged, Angry White Voter

They Misunderstood the Aged, Angry White Voter

I am white, older (qualified for Soc Sec although I can’t afford to retire yet) and angry. AND I voted for Obama. You see, the things I’m angry about are: 1) lack of equal opportunity for women, 2) attacks on availability of family planning, 3) demonization of the Unions that created the Middle Class in America, 4) climate change deniers, and 5) corporate fascism. Yes, this angry, aged, white person, proudly voted for Obama.

and I proudly voted for Obama for many of the same reasons in the OP.

Mostly I'm angry at a bunch of rich old white men who think they know best when they really know fuck all about how the rest of us have had to live.

All of us are at various stages of retirement age and we all voted Obama. I'm also worried for my son and nieces and nephews.

I am a 67 year old federal worker (still working), and I am in total agreement with kpete - plus - I was totally in opposition to his demonetization of government (Town, County, State & Federal) employees. He once referred to us as the "Help". He got what he deserved - rejected!

Angry that Ryan was trying to undercut Medicare for the rest of us.

He just missed voting for Obama, but he would been DELIGHTED with the outcome.

Not really. Happy and thrilled on Tuesday, and frankly surprised. Proud to cast my vote for President Obama and gay marriage.

is that I qualify as "older"

I'm with you on this one. A lot of us older folk still remember what the 60s were about - or supposed to be about.

Kpete, the list could be longer, but that will do to start.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try
No people below us, above it's only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do
No need to kill or die for and no religions too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger a brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing for the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Take my hand and join us
And the world will live, will live as one
