Bizarre message from "Advance Domain Availability Notification"

I have a website. A few days ago I received this message in my email:

Advance Domain Availability Notification:

We are writing you about the domain xxxxxxxx.com, which will be listed for auction soon. This domain might be useful for you, since you own a domain similar to this domain.

To confirm interest in owning this domain, fill out the simple form here: xxxxxxxx.com

Sincerely,Alexander
60 State Street
Suite 700
Boston, MA 02109

If you do not want more of these business solicitation messages, please click the link above and follow instructions at the bottom of the page

But you can catch yourself entertaining habitually certain ideas and setting others aside; and that, I think, is where our personal destinies are largely decided.

Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child

WTF? Anyone else with a website receive a similar message?

This sounds like a "come on," playing on the fear that someone might "own my name" if I don't pony up some money.

But the reference to Republicans is what I find bizarre...
