We all do it. Perusing the news, facebook, the internet, we all get these news pop-ups. MTG said something stupid again today. And you click on it. Mainstream media has a huge role in this , but you do too! Quit clicking on these articles. the more you do, the more you are going to see MTG. There is nothing that can come out of the mouth of MTG I that give a rats ass about. The media manipulates us, but we also manipulate the media. Every time you click on a story, you make that story important. Every time you click on MTG news, you make that news important, and you will see more and more MTG. And she wuill spew more bullshit. Just quit. As a member of DU, I get my MTG (wait was that a song) for other DU posters. I don't need to go anywhere else. I do but its like quitting cigarettes, it's hard to break a habit. Quit giving her click bait energy!

(112,456 posts)form of forum moderation. There are rules within the TOS that allow members to hide posts for spreading RW talking points, kooky content, etc., so if a thread has an egregious violation it will be hidden.
Also, none of the members of DU are compelled to click on any thread. Rhiannon and I are usually the top two posters in the V&M forum. Both of us make an effort to use the titles of YouTube videos and identify the source of the videos. The thumbnails that are on the videos also help members to avoid content that they don't want to watch. I personally try to convert subjects lines that are UPPER CASE into Mixed Case just so the titles of the threads aren't quite as annoying when they are on the Latest Threads page.
