Political capital needs to be spent on a new cabinet post. Secretary of Election Integrity.

Illegal activity, voter suppression, inadequate numbers of ballots, gerrymandering of districts, etc needs to be addressed before our next election OR we need to allow election monitors from the UN to oversee our elections.

We MUST find a way to have elections in this country that do not reek of fraud--for God's sake...they still have a half a million ballots in Arizona that aren't counted and by all appearances, really doesn't look like they are trying very hard to accomplish that task.

We need to take the elections out of the hands of partisan Secretary's of State. Yes, elections have consequences but that consequence shouldn't result in large groups of citizens suffrage rights being denied and honestly? The system is irreparably broken and needs to be overhauled.

These fringe lunatic groups like "True the Vote" need to be outlawed.

I am quite sure our elections are the envy of every banana republic in the world--and we can most certainly do better.

But you're right, a department or sub-department would help. I don't see that political capital needs to be expended.

Obama can shame Republicans into it, especially if showcasing examples of Republican voters who ended up being caught in the GOP net of disenfranchisement.

and forced to vote on a provisional ballot.

A significant percentage of 600,000 people were disenfranchised.

And to think you can shame them? Please.
