DETROIT, MI- President Barack Obama called United Auto Workers President Bob King Friday to personally thank the union for its support.
Today President Obama called UAW President Bob King to personally thank all UAW members and activists for their great support in this election, according to a message to UAW members that was obtained by MLive Autos. The President expressed how deeply he appreciates the UAW and our membership and expressed that we could not have done this without the UAW and its membership.
Obama, according to the note, also thanked UAW members for the critical difference they made in increasing the Democratic majority in the Senate, including the addition of new women leaders like Elizabeth Warren and Tammy Baldwin to the Senate.
