LOL Huckabee on Fox and Fiends this morning talking about all those people on welfare

What a difference an election makes! They led the story with the shocking statistic that 49% of Americans are on some type of government assistance. Of course they didn't tell us how many were on which assistance and I'm sure they included retired folks on Social Security. So then Huckabee comes on and says well, some of those people, "the majority" really NEED the help, and only a few are taking advantage of the system. And we need to look back to the 90s when welfare reform really worked. (I would disagree with him on that point but that's a whole nuther thread.)

Now just imagine if that had been the talking point during the campaign from the right. Instead of disenfranchising 47% of Americas by calling them 'victims', how about actually admitting they really NEED the help they receive from the tax payers. We may be looking at a different outcome today.

Typical right winger - a day late and a dollar short.

The alternative is to be like a developing world country where the poor, sick, and old people go without food and clothing and sit around in the streets with begging cups.

But if they are turning round, well I think we have to bite the bullet, stare them in the face, shake their hands and mutter through gritted teeth: "welcome back on board" while thinking "you stupid tits".
