Anders Breivik (Norway's mass killer) criticises 'inhumane' jail conditions

Norwegian mass killer's complaints range from censorship of his letters to prison's cold coffee and lack of moisturiser

Breivik killed 77 people in a bombing in Oslo and a shooting frenzy on the island of Utoeya in July last year

Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian mass killer, has complained about his conditions in prison, with grievances ranging from not being able to keep moisturiser in his cell to the temperature of his coffee.

The complaints are included in a 27-page letter to prison authorities obtained by the Norwegian tabloid VG which was published on Friday and verified by his lawyer.

In the document, Breivik protests that the censorship of his letters was so strict that his freedom of expression was being impinged upon, Tord Jordet, said.

"I highly doubt that there are worse detention facilities in Norway," the right-wing extremist, who killed 77 people in a bombing and shooting frenzy in July last year, says in the letter.

Damn. Those Scandinavian countries really know how to inflict extra punishment. Cold coffee and no moisturizer in your cell are the worst. And having your mail monitored keeps you from promoting more right-wing anti -immigrant, anti-Muslim violence.

It is, however, encouraging to read that prisoners in humane conditions still feel like their lives are less ideal than they would like.

Personally, they should have put him in a hole so deep they'd have to send his food down in pressurized containers.

They just gave him an electric typewriter. I'm sure he'll find that torture too.

Fuck him. Murderous piece of dog shit.

Mass murderers don't deserve to be treated humanely.

DNA can be and realize that they must lock people like him up for life, or immediately remove from human society. I pray that no persons and family will be the sacrifice in 23 years for Norway to learn this lesson

When his time is served, they have the option to tack on another 25 years and then again after that 25 years, etc. It's essentially, life without parole. Their system works quite well.

Perhaps you should spend a little more time considering the difficulties faced by people who are not yourself.

and, at least in this country, there are prisons whose treatment of inmates borders on or is cruel and unusual punishment or even torture.

That said, this guy is guilty of killing scores of people and perhaps most graphically his hunting and killing of young Norwegians at a summer camp.

So I have absolutely no sympathy for him. Not enough butter for his bread, no view, no moisturizer in his cell, coffee isn't the right temperature.

Unbelievable!!!
