I guess I can wait a few more weeks to see how this so-called "fiscal cliff" is handled?
There is too much to celebrate to get angry about anything at this time.
But I do get mad when I see the same Republicans get behind the doors once again and decide how they are going to block this President from doing anything. And this after he just won a mandate on the ACA, higher taxes for the wealthy, and to continue the direction the country is taking. It almost seems like an election did not even take place. The argument sounds like the same argument we have heard before about not raising taxes and pretending there is room for an agreement or some compromise. They are not serious. It is all a charade they have to play to make themselves look less extreme. They do not want a compromise.
So I guess I will cool it for a while and try to assimilate all that has happened in the last few days? I do not want to go back from where we just came...

(20,600 posts)If Obama gives in once again to the GOP, put a fork in him as far as I'm concerned. I will be done with having any good expectations for a second term and will have lost all respect for the guy. At that point, it will be a matter of hoping that any damage done during the term is limited and contained, and will have to look forward to 2016 for a solution in terms of a new Democratic candidate for the presidency.
