Been hearing a lot of "defense of freedom of speech" over the upside-down flag flown at

half staff at the McDonalds ...

All the RW types I hear are defending this as a "show of free speech" ...

I say ... Okay, if it's "free speech" as you say ... who's claiming this "freedom"?

All I've heard from any of the parties involved is passing the blame on to someone else ... 1 - It was told to be done from the corporate level ; 2 - the flag pole was broken ... etc.

If it's "freedom of speech", why hasn't anybody involved SAID SO???

It's not like the red area this was in would cause them to lose business ... Hell, the owner of Chik-fil-a reported a massive rise in sales when he did the "non-PC thing" in using his "first amendment rights". So, it wouldn't be an economic loss, they'd probably enjoy the best sales in their existence, with people driving hundreds of miles just to eat there "in support"!
