Sorry to say, effective immediately that station is no longer broadcasting progressive talk radio. 4. Holla back at Clear Channel over the KPOJ issue! Portland does NOT need ANOTHER sports station.

The only big-league sports team in the area is the NBA team Trail Blazers (a team that hasn't been beyond round 1 of the playoffs since 2000). Now after nearly 8 years of progressive talk KPOJ is converting to a Fox Sports Radio affiliate. Same happened with WINZ 940 in Miami three years ago. Yep 620KPOJ.com now has been REDESIGNED. And KPOJ now is playing a basketball game. The switch was at 5:30PM, per BradBlog. Unfortunately I was watching the Frontline episode "Big Sky, Big Money" at the time. GRRRR! What the hell makes Cheap Channel think Fox Sports will do better in the Portland market than an alternative to Flush Limpballs?

The progressive community of Madison, Wisconsin shamed Cheap Channel into reverting 92.1 WXXM from sports to progressive talk "The Mic" 5 years ago as you may remember. Portlanders may be able to DO IT AGAIN this year into 2013! (Of course as a courtesy please be polite and to the point when contacting the radio corporation.)

As a longtime online listener to KPOJ I am disappointed as are many Portlanders over the change from progressive talk to sports. As a progressive talk station KPOJ provided Portland-area listeners with an alternative view of politics and culture seldom expressed in most corporate mainstream media. I enjoyed listening to Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy on KPOJ streaming and hope Clear Channel reconsiders this programming decision. Consider: which format better serves the public interest in the Portland area?

I live in the Red Dumbfuckistan of the Midwest, but I've been listening to KPOJ's weekday lineup for a long time - Ed, Thom, and Randi. I listen via my laptop or iPhone without any problems with buffering and such. There is NO such programming locally, and the quality of other stations over the internet isn't consistent.

I am not happy about this KPOJ change.
