Couple that hung empty chairs from trees finds chair marked "4 more years" nailed to their driveway

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP -- The Grand Haven Township couple who came under scrutiny about a month before the presidential election for hanging empty chairs in their front yard discovered an unwelcomed addition to their display of political signs, American flags and empty chairs this morning.

Ken and Judy David, who live across from an elementary school on Comstock Street, found a white outdoor chair marked with “4 more years,” “racist pig” and other profanities at the end of their driveway the morning after the election. The chair’s back, right leg was nailed to the David’s driveway, as the other back leg remained airborne.

“It’s not nice,” Ken David said to his wife when they found the chair before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Even if we assume this "end" was the part where the driveway crosses a sidewalk, that doesn't give the vandals carte blanche.

That is the sort of thing that right-wingers do and I was proud that we rarely hear of such acts from the left. We tend to do these things in our minds, but we respect other people's property no matter how outrageously they may behave.

For political terrorism. Wingnuts hate cats. We herd them.

I'm not feeling too sorry for these guys. Wishing a lynching on someone and visualizing it to the public is a stab in the heart. A chair with 4 more years in the driveway doesn't say that, it just says to accept reality.

Even then, I hope they didn't do any real damage to property.

They only cry foul when it is done to them, but never take responsibility for their own behavior.

Those upset by this, consider it a lesson in empathy.

Just fuck these assholes. I'm sick of their assholery. All of them. Hope they build a bomb shelter, like Glenn Beck has told them to do, and go sit in there for four more years. I'm sick of the RWNJs.

Would I have discouraged someone else from doing it if they told me of their plan? Yes.

Can I appreciate the delicious irony in their shock and offense that someone gave them a taste of their own medicine? Oh, yeah. You betcha.

In fact, if they are looking for sympathy I'd suggest they check the dictionary someplace between shit and syphilis...

Having SAID that, however, I do feel compelled to offer the usual parental warning that destruction of property or vandalism is not a behavior that any thinking adult should endorse.

Have a nice day, Mr David.

school. Yes, they have a right to do a mock lynching on their own property, I suppose. But, forgive me if I don't shed a tear for them because someone responded to their public racist tableau by pulling a little prank the poster couple for "not nice" found "not nice."
