This thread, http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021770141 got me thinking - the disrespect shown to this President (You lie, and about 1,000,000 other examples) is certainly noticed by non-whites. The Rs may think it doesn't matter, but it does matter, to hundreds of thousands of people. Especially when the attitude comes from the top down.

Another way the R's just keep shooting themselves in the foot

the R's put out there. They did not report on the disrespect shown the president - just the crazy stories as if they were real or were a legitimate point of view.

Anyone who is not in their social circle will be treated as less than, even the POTUS. They really believe that they are God's chosen few.

Us blacks have to put up with this shit everyday. Nothing new for us. I'm glad that through Obama, some whites are finally seeing it.

and do not watch Faux, or MSNBC or any news for that matter.

but the way our president is treating does rise above the din, and is noticed, and I am speaking from experience with my friends.

Any message the R's have (and I don't think they have any message at all) is already lost. Bohner and McConnell would do well to start taking the Presidents calls and tell their cronies to grow up.

....hearing, seeing, and reading for the last couple of decades. Rush and the other radio/TV wingnuts have made fortunes fanning the flames of a small coalition of NeoCon, Neofascist, Christian extremist, and other ultra right-wingers. That coalition seized control of the GOP and forced out every single moderate politician and replaced them with people who thought the same way they did. As a result, the GOP no longer represents REAL mainstream conservative thinking of any kind.

I keep wondering when mainstream Republicans are going to revolt and throw out the extremists who have done so much damage to the country and will continue to do so if allowed to stay in power.
