Part 1. Cue the music for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE...
(Car drives up to a generic fast-food restaurant. Out from the auto steps Jim Phelps who walks into the restaurant, goes to the head of the line, orders, and is given a closed bag. Phelps takes the bag out to his car, opens it and there is a iPod inside. He switches on the iPod) "Good morning Mr. Phelps. The man you are looking at is Karl Rove. Some years ago, Rove was the mastermind of a plot which illegally and illicitly twice installed a President via a mechanism of changing cast votes within an election. The process and methodology which he used remains unknown to this day. The American election will be taking place in three weeks and it is widely assumed that Rove will once again utilize this technique to place his favorite candidate, Willard "Mitt" Romney in the White House. Romney is a known habitual prevaricator and is suspected of ties to the sinister people who have evil designs upon this country. His potential ascension to the Presidency of The United States is considered to be cause for great alarm among the leaders of the civilized world, both domestic and foreign. Your mission Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to discover the method of vote-changing, neutralize its effects, and ensure that Rove, Romney, and others are forever unable to pursue this strategy ever again. As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, Jim." (The iPod puffs up in a smoky cloud. Phelps drops the iPod in the bag and tosses it into a burning waste can).
Dissolve to Phelps' modern apartment. He is carrying a cocktail and a black portfolio. He sits on the sectional sofa and puts down his drink and opens the book. Glossy photos are present. He sorts through them, keeping some, and discarding others.
