Religious Right, Tea Party big losers in this election!

Now I know there were a few victories for the teabaggers, but this was more than offset by some major losses and a real major scare put into the heart of lead tea queen Michele Bachmann. If there is one message I'm getting from looking at some of the results around the country, it is some evidence of a great repudiation of tea party values and a major defeat for the overblown religious right and their holier-than-thou plans for dominionism.

When three states enact same-sex marriage by popular vote (for the first time) and the first state constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage is defeated in the same election, that leaves the phony KKKhristians with little to celebrate this morning. But more than that, a lot of wingnut religious-inspired referendums appear to have gone down in flames.

In Florida, an amendment to prevent the levying of any penalties because of required health insurance was defeated. Another amendment calling for the repeal of the ban on public dollars for religious schools was soundly defeated. Minnesota turned back a voter ID bill.

Are there other rightwing-inspired referendums that were defeated around the country?

Judge Wiggins was under fire for, GASP! daring to rule, along with the rest of the Iowa Supreme Court, that gay marriage should be legal in our Blue again state. What is signifigant about this is that the RW poured a lot of money in here to defeat him, just as three judges got voted out in 2010 for the same thing. The good people of our state woke up and basically said "Fuck you Vander Plaats, etc., we want our judges to actually follow the law."

Gosh, and I forgot that Florida also defeated a referendum to deny any public funds for use in abortion!
