Those Ol' Miss students or whoever out protesting

are going to get the shite jerked out of them.
They are in the SEC and have a decent team and coach. They loves them some football, and long for the Archie Manning days. That kind of shite is going to cripple recruiting in many places.
Somebody is going to have a 'word' with them

They were decent in in-state recruiting, but they haven't had a great reach.
In addition, the Civil War memories are bitter, but further past. The viciousness of the Civil Rights era is a time that many lived through. That is something that a lot of people never want to see again.
You start that crap up on campus and it will be nasty.

I can tell you, there are some of the biggest assholes in the world at Ole Miss. The town of Oxford is pretty nice and most of the people there are decent and rather liberal, at least by MS standards. But once you venture on campus, it's a completely different story. The fraternities and sororities basically rule that school, and those snotty, spoiled rich kids are some of the most offensive people you'll ever meet. Decent people just don't want their kids going to Ole Miss and that helps perpetuate the same old disgusting behavior.
