What did we learn from Election Night? For one thing, nadinbrzezinski was right.

For those who denigrated her for saying that Romney would both concede the election and call Obama, you were wrong and she was right.

I think some didn't like the 'tone' of her post. But I think it's better to evaluate a post based on content, not tone.

Another thing worth mentioning is the number of threads that popped up with absolute 'proof' that Republicans were in the process of stealing the election.

1. Obama won.
2. Only a miniscule number of machines malfunctioned.
3. Filling up pundits' in-boxes with hysterics is a sure way to turn them against us. We should always wait for facts before plastering the Internet with 'emergencies'.

Just a couple of observations.

Oh, one more thing:

O B A M A W O N ! ! ! !

1. Who was filling up pundits in boxes?

Voting issues are serious business and people will discuss them as much or as little as they want (or, as you spun it, "plaster the internet" with it) no matter how you personally feel.

What a very odd OP.

All I'm saying is that it ALWAYS behooves us to gather facts before running around with our heads on fire.

The fact is...most don't know who that poster is, and the rest don't care and didn't see the posts you're referring to.

I just like to call it like I see it, though.

In that respect, this post is not about another poster. It's about judging posts by their content and not some perceived 'tone'.

3. They didn't steal it because they were prevented from doing so. If you are not aware

of the months-long efforts on the Dem side, by so many organizations, by lawyers etc to STOP them from disenfranchising millions of people, mostly minorities, then this OP makes some sense I suppose.

If people had NOT been screaming, each time they caught them, each time they passed more laws, each time they pretended to be registering voters only to throw away Democratic registrations, we would not be celebrating tonight.

Too bad we had so many people dismissing these concerns in 2000, 2004 and several other elections across the country.

But THIS TIME people got serious and they were foiled. There are no doubt people who were prevented from voting but the huge organization to STOP them worked this time.

Imagine a country like this having to have International Observers for our elections!! And WHY do you think that is necessary?

I find the effort to dismiss Election Fraud to be very odd frankly. The only benefit it has, if we were to listen, is for Dem to lose.

It was sheer joy to watch the biggest liar and manipulator of elections, Karl Rove, totally melt down on Fox tonight. He just couldn't believe they lost. And why was he so certain they had not? I feel no compunction in saying that he knew about the efforts to steal it and couldn't believe they had failed so miserably.

Keep your eyes on Republicans, they steal elections if you don't.

Big Thank You to all the activists, lawyers, observers and ordinary citizens who stopped them this time!

I'm referring to the 6 or 7 threads about 2 malfunctioning machines in PA that were 'proof positive' that the GOP was stealing the election.

My post is specifically concerning the 2 malfunctioning machines that so many KNEW were proof that the GOP was stealing the election.

Do you think I'm in FAVOR of voter suppression? I'm not ignoring it but it's not the subject of my post.

The same people against voting machines here are fine with them being used in other countries (eg. Venezuela). So you just have to come to accept the blatant double standard of lies.

9. As to your point #2, you seem to be totally ignoring all of the GOP attempts to suppress....
Wed Nov 7, 2012, 09:02 AM

....the vote in several states by purging voter rolls, eliminating all or some of early voting days, shortening the hours of operation during early voting days, and demanding photo ids from folks who would have had extreme difficulties in obtaining them. There were also numerous instances of flyers sent out and robocalls made to certain demographics reminding those voters to vote on days other than Election Day. In a few cases voters showed up to vote only to find that their polling placed was moved to another location without any prior notice.

As to your point #3, how will the pundits know they're way off base unless a number of people tell them? I also find it VERY odd that you describe those communications as "hysterics".

...that caused 6 or 7 threads to be generated with exhortations to call Rachel. It was obvious to me -and some others- that it wasn't part of the GOP conspiracy to steal the election.

They have had plenty of other moving parts in their efforts to steal the election but this wasn't one of them.

But I'm talking specifically about the 2 malfunctioning machines in PA. There is plenty of GOP suppression and outright fraud going on but those 2 machines were not part of it.
