Now that Obama never has to run for office again

Can we possibly hope he will get medieval on some congressional republican asses? I'm sick of Obama negotiating with terrorists. I want to see him fight fire with fire. This bipartisan shit where they tell him to go fuck himself and he asks with what has got to go. I don't expect him to invite them to a dinner and being along a baseball bat like Capone but I think he can do something more akin to an offer they can't refuse, not so much a horse's head in the bed but simply prosecuting them for crimes committed while in office and asking the survivors who's next? It's impossible for them to lead as they have without being corrupt. It's not a question of whether they broke the law but the circumstances. Fire Holder and put someone in who will go after the GOP like a weasel in a chicken coop.

I expect to see investigations against Karl Rove and others coming down the pike. He was in the Fox studios tonight, but I'd expect him to hightail it back to Sweden tomorrow.

I don't expect it to happen. Our political game here is kayfabe like in wrestling. I don't think we've really seen an assault on the status quo since FDR pushed through the New Deal or LBJ did Civil Rights. I would not doubt dem strategists privately disparaging the wisdom of that fight since black votes could not equal the loss of white votes.

I want to see banksters in prison for what they have done to this economy. I want to see hard time for wealthy plutocrats who have broken the law. I want serious consequences.

It seems like politics these days plays out like pre-napoleonic warfare in Europe where the commoners could fight and die but the nobles of one side would be courteous to the nobles of the other, politely ransoming the captured back to the other side, it's all a great big game. Some inner city kid gets his third strike, it's jail for 20 years. God forbid he deal a little weed. He's a monster! The guys who cratered our economy, we can't even get public agreement that a crime has occurred. And even if the criminal is forced out of his company like Mozilo from Xountrywide, he remains wealthy and free. Boo-hoo, such a tough life.

Sadly, I don't think Obama is willing to rock this boat. I so hope he surprises me.

Well, we shall see...

If things don't change from his first term, then the prosecutorial focus will still be on progressives like Tim DeChristopher and government whistle-blowers.

Yup. I can't believe he allowed the prosecution of whistleblowers. It's criminal that Pvt. Manning is still in solitary. Then again, the drone strikes are also criminal. Gitmo remaining open is criminal. If Congress wouldn't authorize funds to close it, there should have been options as for what to do. I think he simply avoided the fight, the same way he took that tortured stance on being for gay rights but against gay marriage. No sane person could have a stance like that, it was only so the pukes couldn't run ads about him being pro-destruction of marriage for the homonazi agenda blah blah but why? They make shit up about him anyway, they don't let facts get in the way.
