I drove ten hours round trip to vote today.

(absentee ballot trip ups left me with no other choice).

My state, Tennessee, went overwhelmingly rightwing...as I expected...and that dirty bastard Scott DesJarlais is still my representative despite his utter hypocrisy. There is clearly work to do there.

But this election is nothing if not a national rejection of tea-party extremism and governance for the privileged. I am proud of my country today.

Gobama.

On a "morale" level, seeing Tennessee go so solidly red is a huge bummer. Just a few years ago the state had a decent amount of Dems, at least blue dogs, and even their Republicans were more moderate than many. I love Tennessee, both for the scenery and for the people. But politically it is quite depressing at this point in time.

I feel like I am surrounded my idiots 2-1 right now. Cannot believe DeJarlais is winning.

I so wanted to get on DU and thank Ashley Judd for the robo-call I got yesterday advocating Eric Stewart. I sincerely hoped he would win.

I'm sad that Tennesseans look up to a creep like DesJarlais. It says a lot about this state and it's not good. Statistics just came out ranking Tennessee as one of the most dangerous for women. Does this state hate its mothers, sisters, daughters so much it elevates a man like DesJarlais, a doctor who had sex with his patients?

If the leaders here think the above low ranking concerning women's safety will get them new business, they are wrong. Most companies don't want to relocate to caveman-type societies. They actually view the women in their businesses and in their familes as HUMAN resources.

We do indeed have a lot of work to do, but thank you for making that effort. It was fun.

What with Colorado's new...stances...what do you think about living there now, lol?

We could still fight it out in Tennessee cuz the state has a lot going for it. But damn the backslide is exhausting.
