Adam Gray now leads 50.4-49.6
We watched with agony as the Arizona red shift destroyed our hopes. Here comes the California blue shift to restore some optimism!

(7,289 posts)I thought it sounded familiar. (Barbara Lee's Berkeley Oakland Alameda etc)
NOW it's really Central Valley San Joaquine, Stanislaus Merced, Tuolamene etc.
Places I considered quite Red. Wow! This is amazing!

(30 posts)Michelle Steel will win, there arent enough votes in LA to counter the OC vote.
I hate her and her campaign is so dirty and racist. She is awful. God I hate her.
So Id love to see gone, but its not gonna happen.
Sorry.

(8,351 posts)I watched OC go blue in 2018 and saw my AV district flip too.
This is not 2018

(30 posts)I moved to OC in 2017, and Im in Lou Correas district now but was in that part of OC that got redistricted out of Katie Porter land.
If we had ended up with Steel I would have blown a serious gasket. She is corrupt and just dont get me started.

(25,813 posts)Likely Rs: CA 3, CA 22, CA 27 and CO 3 remain
They only need one

(8,351 posts)And the higher estimates from LA county bode better for Smith as she doesnt need to win each batch by quite as many votes now to win.I think CA3 seems the most likely to go R at this point. Hopefully we can hold the rest and give the GOP a nightmare scenario trying to hold that caucus together.

(25,813 posts)I don't have much hope for Salas, due to the location. Salas is at 47%
LA County turnout has been abysmal....

(8,351 posts)Their estimated votes counted from 70 to 65.%. That puts the remaining votes at about 80k. She won the last batch with 57%. If there are 80k votes left she would need to win the rest by at least 58%. Doable, I think. The blue shift is real, but will have to wait to see how much it helps us this year.

(9,998 posts)Ode to a defeated GOP legislator
Sung to the tune Blue (wave) Christmas.
I'll have a blue Christmas without you
I'll smoke a doo-bie just thinking about you
The passage of bills, set for 2023
Will get the all-clear, if you're not here with me
When the-o-crat state laws start fallin'
And when the feds, they're finally callin'
You'll be saying good night to the wacko alt-right.
And We'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas
repeat:
Folks just want to be free, from white male supremacy
And we'll have red, white, and blue rainbow Christmas
Alternate lyrics:
And when those guns that people are shootin'
Aren't aimed at kids, but at Vladimir Putin'
He'll be takin' a bite of Polonium delight.
But We'll have a wonderful blue and gold Christmas

I'm feeling ..... BLUE .... right now!!!!

(36,317 posts)Still a few races where Rs are ahead, but not many votes in. These are the only chances for Ds to pick up any more. Hope there's real mojo in those write-in ballots.
