I started here when it was stolen from Gore, followed along when it was stolen from Kerry, rejoiced with you all when Obama won four years ago, and preparing to rejoice with you again later this evening.

I didn't find DU until half way through the second bush debacle. I was losing my mind trying to find a source of information that made sense during that time and this place saved me! I don't post much but I read a lot. Thank you for the community!

24. This is my 3rd night

I didn't really find DU until early in the 2004 campaign...the primaries. It could have done a lot for my sanity if I had found it by 9/11, as I was desolate and alone in being one of the single-digit percent who disapproved of the way shrub handled 9/11, the day of and after. (I thought he was AWOL from his presidential duties during the day, and when he finally did get back to the White House, he looked like a juvenile, drunk kid playing cops & robbers, or cops & terrorists as the case may be.)

I'm going to take a break to allow time for cities to tabulate--I am well aware that the rural red tends to get counted first so I don't want to subject myself to nail-biting unless absolutely necessary. Hopefully DU will still be available to me a couple hours from now, as I don't have a star, haven't been able to afford one since 2005ish...

I had to think back really hard when y'all pointed out that DU wasn't established until 2001. As I recall, at that time I was reading and following an online community that supported Al Gore in 2000. Election night and the aftermath was horrendous, and I followed that community until, at some point, someone posted that everyone was moving to another site which, obviously, was DU.

So yes, I guess that makes it three, but it still seems like four to me.

Happy now? Have I atoned sufficiently for my sins?

Now, can we enjoy this election - hopefully a landslide for Obama - together?
