(36,974 posts)I think that is one of the worse photos of President Obama, there are so many more better ones than that one!

(18,219 posts)I agree that the photo is silly, but it is fun too. But if you have better ones, we could use them too.

(719 posts)I know a few right-wingers and they all seem to enjoy fantasizing about solving their problems via large quantities of ammunition. These aren't the most rational individuals to begin with, and this year they've had it beat into their brains that America as we know it will likely cease to exist if Obama is re-elected.

(5,955 posts)That's why one of my favorite slogans is:
We Gave Bush 8 Years To Make This Mess
We Can Give Obama 8 Years To Clean It Up
The main difference is that, when Bush squeeked and (in the case of Ohio) cheated his way to re-election, NOBODY was happy. The Democrats were outraged, the non-partisan independents held their noses and voted for Bush because they didn't want to change Presidents in the middle of a war, and the Republicans held their noses and voted for a guy they knew was an incompetent dipshit because they refused to let a LIBERAL into the White House.
This time, when Obama is re-elected, the Democrats will be HAPPY about it. Sure there will be a handful of hard lefties (and a few fake lefties) who will blather about how Obama is not a real progressive, but the majority are happy with him.
That's what separates THIS mid-term from the 2004 mid term. In the 2004 mid term, the entire country was unhappy with Bush, but for different reasons. This time, half the country will start out being happy with the choice, and the other half well BECOME happy about the choice as things continue to improve. Yes, there will be some hand-wringing over 'grand bargains' and various negotiations that will happen early in the new year, but the final result will be 1000X better than the alternative.
