ASSSSSSHOOOOOOOOLE
1. LARRY FLYNT HAS AKINS ATTENTION Rep. Todd Akin, an evangelical Christian and the GOP Senate nominee in Missouri, mentioned the Hustler magazine publisher by name Monday during a brief stop at the Republican headquarters in St. Charles County. Flynt raised eyebrows recently by offering the St. Louis-area congressman $1 million if he could produce evidence proving his assertion that female bodies have ways of preventing pregnancies after rape. You saw [Sen. Claire McCaskills] most recent advocate for womens rights: Larry Flynt, Akin told a supporter in St. Peters, cracking himself up. This smells like desperation. The supporter chimed in: At least she didnt bring Michael J. Fox back here.
Fox, who suffers from Parkinsons disease, cut an ad for McCaskill during her first Senate campaign in 2006, praising her support for stem cell research. On Sunday, publicity hound Flynt took out a half-page ad in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, vowing to make Akin a millionaire. I assume you would never have ventured such an original statement about womens reproductive biology, and suggested that women should have no fear of unwanted pregnancy from rapists, unless have in your possession completely conclusive evidence, Flynt wrote in an open letter to Akin. Akin was also asked about Flynts $1 million challenge during a stop in Florissant later in the day, KMOX reported.

That's Todd Akin's level of social maturity.
Republicans assume it's a MUST that bad things like Parkinsons are fated (in their blasphemous interpretations of God's will) to happen and they're happy it's someone else and not them, so, like Todd, they're actually kind of glad to see proof of their own righteousness in what befalls others, so they are amused usually privately, but sometimes it slips out in public.

(34,845 posts)...these guys like Akin, they're not even good politicians! Only an imbecile would derail his own campaign with comments like his!
Akin is yet another poster child for the disintegration of the GOP we once knew and feared.
