MADISON, Wis.The tea party, at least its widespread influence on Republican congressional candidates, "is over," declared the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the party group charged with electing Democrats to the House."
"House Republican incumbentsand their candidatesare running as far away from the Tea Party as they can," a pre-election DCCC memo provided to Yahoo News reads. "Regardless of whether [Republicans] win or lose, the Tea Party of 2010 is over."

(40,416 posts)I hope that I am correct about this, as it is mere speculation.
However, I feel strongly that this is no mere taunt. There is a reason why the DCCC is releasing this on the eve of the election.
This taunt may have some data behind it.
I hope so. Dare it.
I think it is very unlikely that we'll take back the House. However, dare to hope that many of the congressional tea baggers are driven out of office.
We already know of a few who likely will, with Joe Walsh (IL-06) heading the list -- go Tammy Duckworth.

(25,029 posts)The DCCC memo is goofy in pretending the Tea garbage is anything but TeaPubliKlan-Regular and probably is trying to pretend that it is now time for bipartisan blah-blah-blah.
Pointless and senseless drivel.
