by putting fewer machines in certain neighborhoods to make the wait time long and frustrate voters into leaving - need to be collated and broadcast after this election. We need to show the American People the very blatant ways that people are being denied their right to vote in this country. We need to have some of our elected officials in D.C. put together a "Voters Rights Amendment" that somehow nationalizes how voting is to be done in this country - so that everyone has an equal chance at voting without all the shenanigans.
We send our soldiers to war to protect our rights - particularly our right to vote - and then there are elements in our midst that work to deny that right.
We also need to make sure that some agency - like the DOJ - keeps an eye on those Secretaries of States and Governors and other state voting officials that have worked to encourage these shenanigans and watch if they are rewarded monetarily for their devious work. I'm thinking that - someone, some group - has dangled large sums of money in front of them - if they could put up barriers to prevent people from voting. If that be so - we need to be sure that those people be made an example of and incarcerated to the extent of the law. And I mean the people on both sides of this - the ones doing the dangling of the money and the ones doing the dirty work.
After this election - we need to work to prevent this from ever happening again in our country and make it possible for everyone in this country to exercise their right to vote for whomever they want.
And once every 4 years - election day - the day when we elect the President - the leader of our country - should be a "HOLIDAY" - everyone should be off of work and have the ability to celebrate this precious right - the RIGHT TO VOTE.

(3,931 posts)EVERY election, not just Presidential because Congress and Senate provide our representation, should take place over a 3-day period- either Friday Saturday Sunday or Saturday Sunday Monday - to accommodate all religions and work schedules. And absentee voting should be an option for everyone. The turnout for elections in this country is a disgrace and voting should be made easier, not more difficult.
