How Americans Can Buy American is mentioned in President Bill Clintons new book Back to Work: Why We Need a Smart Government for a Strong Economy on page 182 describing 46 ways to "create jobs and increase growth." His comments are as follows:
43. Promote affordable opportunities to "buy American." Roger Simmermaker, an electronics technician from Orlando, Florida, is the author of How Americans Can Buy American. It contains more than sixteen thousand products and services made in the United States and includes a special list of a thousand union-made products. produced by prison slave labor.

(10,942 posts)2. For the last three years, I check the origin of products before buying.
Products that are made on the mainland USA at a mainland plant get purchased immediately. I will purchase products that have imported components, but are built in the mainland USA, some better clothing fall into this category, unfortunately. I have gotten to the point where nearly 100% of my purchases are made on the mainland USA, down to toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss. Getting to where I am was hard initially, but easier now because more and more people have gotten the message that buying imported ruins our national economic climate.
