From the hoarseness of his voice, you just knew he was giving his all.
He's giving it again in a worthy cause.
I'd be a little worried if he wasn't hoarse. If he could talk normally the day before the election, it would mean he didn't really care. It's kind of like going to a football game. If you can talk afterwards, you didn't yell loud enough or hard enough for your team.
