they can come in if they want, but they'll be done in about oh, say, ten minutes.

People who know me always kid about how if a robber broke into my place looking for something to steal, he'd probably go back out and bring some stuff in because I have nothing of real value and he'd feel sorry for me.

I like it that way.

FBI Agent: We could serve you with a warning for this bootleg DVD of "Howard the Duck."

Me: Too late, I watched it since then. Where were you 24 hours ago when I needed you?

If some radcon terrorists blow something up, my background would probably have them visiting me. After all, the FBI doesn't know my politics.
I guess they wouldn't need a warrant, since I'd invite them in.
So, I probably should go back & change my vote to no.

and reading about weird things, I'm probably one of the most boring people I know. Bring it.

Funny thing though; decades ago when I still lived in Detroit, I let a friend who had a certain level of fame as a old Nam protester move in with me temporarily after his girlfriend kicked him out for being a total dirtbag. This was back in the late 80's...so pre-practically everything. The VERY DAY AFTER he moves in, my phone started making weird noises and I would hear people snickering at times when I was talking to friends and such. I figured my phone was tapped and I made a big joke out of it. I would answer the phone by saying "f**k the government, how may I help you?", which resulted in some very festive snickering and LOTS more clicking and beeping sounds.

All of this without the guy having filed any change of address form or anything. I still wonder at how they managed to track the guy, and if they could keep tabs on him THEN, then the ability to keep an eye on some of these domestic terrorist types has to be a LOT more advanced, considering how traceable everything is now. I'd imagine that the main variable would be the human element these days...or maybe TOO much data to sift though.

(EDITED TO MENTION; when I asked my friend about it, he said "oh, they've been following me around since the 60's" and left it at that.)

Just my random thoughts on the matter.

If the FBI got a warrant to come to my house, chances are that I did something to bring them there.

I am not saying that there isn't politics or a level of corruption at the FBI. Any human institution is going to have those problems. I am saying that at least, under ANY Democratic Administration, the abuses to which the FBI may be prone, are going to be kept in check. It Trump or a Trump acolyte like DeSantis becomes president, then I will likely be singing a much different toon.

The only thing they could arrest me for would be for wasting their time, and at that.....

It would only be after getting their own asses out of a German jail for illegally operating on foreign territory without a specific authorization from the German government, which is not given out to foreign government agencies.
