Two votes cast for Obama today in NE Oklahoma today (me and my partner). There was actually quite a turnout which surprised us and a number of people in line. I have only seen TWO "vote Romney" signs and ZERO bumperstickers for Romney.

Obama all the way. The Evergreen State is blue!...

(53,989 posts)We color in squares on a paper ballot, then run it through a scan-tron; it's like high school all over and the SATs. LOL!

(62,683 posts)Same type of ballot, it sounds like -- fill in the circles, then it's scanned when they receive it.
Oregon is all mail-in, too, and I'm thinking more and more States may go that way. I've been feeling pretty immune from the voter suppression, especially since I just learned we can check on line to see if it's been received and veified.
BUT, where there's a will there's an evil way. This announcement is on the front page of the King County Gov. elections site:
Its been reported that King County GOP is offering to collect and return voters ballots.
We recommend that voters return ballots to an official King County Elections ballot drop-off location or through the US Postal Service. Voters may use the online ballot tracker to confirm that King County has received their ballot.

Your returned ballot packet will soon be opened and your ballot will be prepared for counting.
Thank you for voting.

(192 posts)Decent turnout.
This evening I was bouncing in my seat as we drove past the 4th Obama yard sign.
My husband had to burst my bubble. He thinks the 3rd sign was a prank...knows the homeowner and doesn't think they're blue.
Husband hasn't voted yet. He's undecided but leaning blue. Son goes to vote Tuesday and has told me he's voting blue.

(13 posts)Voted Saturday. Decent line. Workers said there had been a crowd early that prior Monday. POTUS vote here will only help the popular vote for PBO but down ballot races I hope will make more of difference. My hope is that it doesn't just tell them where the dem precincts are so they can later gerrymander them in with rep dominant ones. This is the land of Tom "The Hammer" DeLay, after all.

(80 posts)My husband and I each cast our votes for Obama/Biden. I didn't vote a straight party ticket, as there were some races where no Democrats were on the ballot. In those races, I voted against Republicans by voting for the Green party or Libertarian. There were a few races where a Republican was running, unopposed. I didn't vote in those races.

(46 posts)voted in person in Tampa, FL last Sunday. Took us about an hour, we spent more time with the ballot than standing in line. I read up on all the amendments the day before, but thank goodness for the Democratic slate I was handed right before going into the polling station. I think the Democratic slate (like a cheat sheet) is a brilliant idea.

(6,279 posts)This was noon Wednesday, one other guy there voting. Small town in a deep red county; signs for Mourdock everywhere until you get downtown, where you get a 50/50-ish mix of Dem and R signs. I think the abortion/rape fiasco has dimmed enthusiasm immensely, and the local 'baggers never much liked Romney to begin with (after all, they thought Lugar was a sellout to Obama!).

(5,963 posts)Little chance of us helping the President much with our votes, but at least we help with the popular vote, AND we got to vote against Richard "Rape is a gift from god" Mourdock.
