FR: We are the sad, defeated resistance!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2953897/posts?q=1&;page=51

Sadly it’s all but over now. Romney supposedly had a double digit lead with independents and its been erased in mere days. The media has finally tipped the scales. We’ll never win another presidential election unless we run a minority.
===
You get real. The polls are never wrong in the end. The person they have winning always wins. Maybe not by the margin they have it but you get the drift. RCP average is usually pretty solig within a point or two. Get your head out of the sand.
Christie probably just cost us the election with his super over the top praise and photo op making Obama seem more with it and presidential than he has this entire election cycle.
And what? FEMA still took four days to hit the ground and NJ/NY is still an effing mess. But yea they got the photo op and Christie got his fat claws on tons of Federal money.

Its all good. So what Romney loses and the country is screwed.

JUDAS.
===

....Call me selfish or whatever, but I am done...over and out and you can reach me at the beach.

===

I really think Chris Christie murdered the Romney campaign.

I am not giving up hope, but he gave the Kenyan the cover he desperately needed to appear moderate which allowed him to win back the Indie voters.

I hope he never wins another race as long as he lives. Even John Roberts’ betrayal wasn’t as bad as Christie’s.

The rats always leave the sinking ship. It's never been about policy or ideology: They think they're winners. And if they aren't, they're done. See ya. Outta here.

This is going to happen nationally: It's why Obama won in 08: They're not getting out of the lazy-boy, putting on clean clothes, combing their hair, and driving the pick-up to a poll where the black guy's gonna make them feel like losers. They're staying home and drinking beer, calling us names, because they're pathetic, whiny, clueless children.

They're taking their ball and going home.

This is why we won the revolutionary war: For the redcoats, it was just a job. They didn't know this filthy little colony would ever amount to anything. But for us, it was everything. It was real and personal and it was our faith and families and futures, and escaping the monarchy and church. That's why we won in 1776, and that's why we'll win tuesday. For us, it's about our real lives. The GOP morans know nothing in their lives is really on the line: Obama will be a good president for them, too. They know that. Every one of them knows that.

*And that's another one they'll never accept. I can accept the arguments over 'why' the climate is changing, or the response that mankind needs to make to survive. This is a planet of billions of people who all want to live. What I won't accept is that steadfast kicking and yelling that is the basis of their denial.

Which is they might have to give up some pleasure to save life on planet Earth, or that of their fellows. Other lifeforms do not exist for their profit solely, just as other people are not discardable tools.

This is why I won't accept their whining about abortion, as they support death in nearly every possible form if it profits them or makes their life more pleasurable. That is what is going on here. I could be wrong, I admit it, but I see most of them a group of lazy couch potatoes who deny that others are taking care of them and show no respect for that.

Fri Nov 2, 2012, 06:45 PM
Nov 2012

Paul Ryan was one of a group of GOP congressmen and senators who met on Obama's inauguration day and pledged to prevent any economic plan by Obama and the Dems from winning. The country was losing 800,000 jobs per month, the banking system was frozen, the housing market had tanked and the stock market was at 6,600. But did they care about the people they represent?

They instead had voted for Bush's deregulation, for the September and October 2008 bank bailouts, but not for the GM bailout.

They put their pledge to each other and to Grover Nyquist ahead of their pledge as elected lawmakers to the US Constitution.

That makes them TRAITORS. Call them what they are! TRAITORS.

And chumly here would rather vote for a TRAITOR over a Kenyan. Bigot! Racist! Begone, back to your hole!

The republicans have brought this upon themselves by pushing for a purified conservativism that excluded anyone but the borderline crazies and the certified nuts who hate anything and everything that isn't like them. Politics and progress depend on coalitions. If one needs an object lesson read Miller's The Crucible. It demonstrates the folly of trying to create a society that has that kind of communal animus.

It's like internet porn. It's all good for a while, but then you just start feeling guilty with pleasure.

And Adolph went to jail for awhile. The insane can look forward to their Kristallnacht and Beer Hall Putsch.

I have grown tired if these nettlesome nut jobs.

I am no Chris Christie fan, but unless he really really fucks up over the upcoming days, weeks, months and years, he has "re-elected" stamped all over his next run for Governor of NJ, and likely has a good shot down the road of riding in Marine One again, this time as the Big Cheese. Christie demonstrated the type of conduct that a leader should, he worked tirelessly for the people of his state and fought to get every resource that could help his state citizens get back on their feet quickly. If Christie has learned permanent humility and carry that forward, he will be an appealing candidate for President a few years from now. The person that I saw in Christie's skin as Sandy neared and then struck was the type of politician that I can respect and even vote for under some conditions.
