Romney has insulted another ally -- Italy

This guy just doesn't know when to stop.

Romney pisses off the Italians

Speaking at an campaign rally in Roanoke, Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, took aim at President Obama by citing Greece, Italy and Spain as examples of countries that the U.S. will end up like:

“If you are a big company and are thinking of making a large investment, you have to ask yourself, ‘Is America going down the same road as Greece?’ Are we heading for a great economic crisis like the ones we are seeing in Europe, Italy and Spain, and in other parts of the world?’ If we continue to spend $1 trillion more than we take in, America will find itself on that same road.”

The Italian newspapers are all going ballistic.

And many many more. Love the photo of him. Looks just like the turdball he is.

I'm surprised he has either of his feet left, as he seems to spend more time with them in his mouth than on the floor.

He doesn't grasp reality. Was he so protected during his adolescence that he doesn't understand the world? Common folk? Genuine labor? At the least, you'd think he'd learn when to keep his mouth shut.

Does he not realize that Spain and Italy are in Europe? Apparently Europe is a country now.

Forget the Northern European countries who are doing really well right now, can't talk about them.

"cept for England -- and that's another story.

The Euro was designed to do exactly what's happening now. It was a corporatist plan to gut the middle class, destroy unions, and eliminate social programs. It's succeeding.

The only way we could become like those countries is to put Romney and Ryan in charge.

who just happen to use the Euro and their economies are fast sinking while their unions and social programs are being gutted?

Really now. The Euro is far more important to companies like Daimler that once had to deal with suppliers and dealers keeping track of twenty or so currencies and not knowing what they were actually making or paying. It's also pretty popular with hundreds of thousands people on what was once the Maginot Line in testier times, and other borders, who cross them daily for work, shopping, visiting relatives... Making change used to be a pain.

European unity may or may not happen, but the Euro was the first step in that direction.

I said most of the countries NOT on the euro were doing well -- those on the euro are in danger

The people who set up the euro didn't do it for "European unity." They did it to take monetary control out of the hands of individual governments. Without being able to enact monetary policies to counter a crisis, as the US and other countries with sovereign currencies can do, the political leaders are left with few choices:

1. Drive down wages
2. Lay people off
3. Gut the unions
4. Do away with environmental rules
5. Sell off the infrastructure
