besides since no one can get into New York or find a place to stay while they are there, this might be the year a New Yorker wins the the hometown marathon.

It would be counter productive and make a bad decision worse.
For whatever it's worth some of the marathon participants are going to skip it and lend a hand to the recovery effort.

I can't for the life of me understand why non-NYers want to say what is appropriate for NY. It's like men trying to make medical decisions for women.
I would, however, be interested in hearing what NY DUers have to say on it.
