Stewart and Colbert returned Wednesday

with killing skits about Romney and Fema and about Sandy.

And as much as I enjoyed them from the comfort of my seat miles away from Sandy's impact, I could not help thinking, in the back of my mind about how millions cannot watch these programs, cannot find anything funny about them.

Colbert was really good and, I suppose, in many places life does go on. He had Lilly Ledbetter and she was funny and gracious. Because her pension is 40% of what she should have had, had she been paid as the men, she is now promoting a book "Grace and Grit." I may purchase it.

Both these shows support charities that will help.

I have heat and cable, but none of my siblings do and most of my friends are stranded without power or heat, I tell them about the show (God bless land lines) and it gives them a laugh. Of course, I am the only one who lost a residence, my trailer at the beach, but it is not easy for small children without electronics, they just take the lack of stimuli. One of my brother is entertaining his neighbors with their family acoustic band.

I am not saying I don't feel for the people with real losses, but those with just the lack of power right now is still livable.

I am sorry for the hardship that you and your family and friends are going through.

As was with Katrina, it is the aftermath that is heart wrenching. I cannot even begin to imagine losing everything that I have.

I admire your spirit. I hope they will last throughout the ordeal.

We lost very little, just some refrigerated food, and some days at work - clean up is another thing. I need someone to push me outside to get the wet leaves off the ground before it rains again.

The trailer was pretty inexpensive compared to the rental of the land to park it on, less than my annual income, which is pretty small, hee. Mostly I live interest and principal from my lifetime of savings which thankfully is enough to allow me to live my life and to donate to causes close to my heart. And I have my home where I sit with electricity, internet, warmth and food.

... Lilly Ledbetter IS WORKING. She's an author. She wrote a book. She is a transformative figure.

She deserves to make a lot of money on the book as a reward for the great service she performed for the women and men who suffer discrimination in America.
