Mark Halperin: "...a better day for the President than he could have possibly expected..."

Time Magazine:

To look at the politics of this, based on the prism of my Twitter-feed, journalists are basically saying two things. One is, mostly good news. If you’re looking at it on the merits, mostly good news, plenty of talking points for the President. But also some are saying no real change. David Gregory and others are saying both sides have their talking points that are the same as before. The Republicans, so far, have one talking point off this, which is the unemployment rate now, in this report, is higher than when the President took office. That’s their main talking point and that’s not politically nothing. But they’re not seizing on this the way they would have if we’d seen a less good report and I think that means to me, on balance, a better day for the President than he could have possibly expected or hoped for just a few months ago when things looked a lot worse.

which no one likes to hear, but hey it's true.

I don't know if he's partisan, but I do know that he sucks at his job.

Every political hack that has been out there championing the "Horse Race" meme knows that come election day they will look like complete fools if they don't start embracing reality. I suspect we'll see the rest of the chattering class moving over the weekend,

We should not promote Halperinitis among DUs. A rule should be instituted that no posts related Halperin, Gregory, Blitzer, Todd can be posted on DU

Symptoms:

(1) Lots of self-importance
(2) delusional thinking: Live in big cities and cite that as experience to know what is going on around the country
(3) Create useless new words like "Gang of 500" that no one uses but still promote them
(4) Look for company of people who are equally delusional
(5) No real work
(6) Protect job against obsolescence by promoting nonsense on TV
