OVL is a system that maps problems reported by voters & answers voting questions.
OurVoteLive.org is a website that logs and organizes election-related problems and inquiries across the USA, created by the Electronic Frontier Foundation . Since early 2008, it's been used by the Election Protection Coalition (EPC) to coordinate efforts in several elections, including the 2008, 2009 and 2010 general elections. Data collected in Our Vote Live comes from calls from voters to the 1-866-OUR-VOTE hotline and reports collected by field volunteers. The database paints the clearest picture of the problems voters face on Election Day through publicly-visible versions of EPC's records. After Election Day Our Vote Live information helps make the case for common sense policy solutions to truly reform our election system, and formed the basis of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law's report, Election Protection 2008: Helping Voters Today, Modernizing the System for Tomorrow. In the 2008 general election, Our Vote Live logged over 86,000 calls, making it the largest database of voting-related inquiries, problems, and discrepancies ever created all available to the general public as a CSV document. OurVoteLive's code is open-source, licensed under Apache 2.0.
