After walking all these neighborhoods in our area I am beginning to believe that we will be an even more divided and bitter nation after this election. The houses with GOP signs are mostly hateful, bitter and racist people who will never never never accept Obama. Some of them have even added "fire Obama" signs to their display. And I see Democratic signs right next door or across the street. And I wonder how these neighbors will get along after the election, particularly if Obama wins.
When I listen to Republicans they are generally completely incensed and in a rage. It is like they are ready to go out of their minds and go ballistic.

(37,345 posts)the wingnuts are not going to take this loss lying down. Some are itching for a civil war. Patriotism is shown by shooting other Americans.

(14,255 posts)the whole teabag/GOP/corporate agenda. And all who blindly or deliberately agree with them.
Forever.
So yeah, you are correct. Wish it wasn't true, but there it is. There is an inhumanity to their beliefs and actions that I cannot get past, and won't even try at this point.
Thing is, we use logic'n'stuff here, but I was watching that D. L. Hughley special last night. He was talking to a white supremacist who quite calmly believes all blacks should go back to Africa and Jews go back to the middle east, and the United States should be whites only.
NO ONE got to choose where they were born or the circumstances into which they were born; most religious people simply believe whatever their parents tell them. I am not "tribal". So any sort of jingoism seems silly at best to me. And the danger is from tribal people, whether the tribe is race or religion or greed. A lot of those people would - or certainly will - inflict real harm on others who are not in their tribe.
Also getting quite pissy about the GOP saying Obama wouldn't have won the presidency if people were racist - when up until that crap spewed out of their mouths, they were bleating that Obama is only president BECAUSE of racism, black people voted him into office.
I am not in a rage, but I am irreversibly disgusted.

(51 posts)Yea, I see the same black fire Obama signs. After the election the republicans and talking heads will dive into an impeachment hunt. I give it a year, two at most.
