I'm excited about both, but what would bring me the most immense pleasure would be to see Romney's concession.

(20,600 posts)Pleasure isn't the word that comes to mind. Maybe relief.

(10,336 posts)Afterwards I will likely switch from worry about the election to worrying about the rabid wing nuts response to it. I fully expect things to get ugly.

(9,446 posts)In a matter of days Romney will be all but forgotten while Obama continuing on with his plan for America will make all the difference in the world to us. That being said, Romney's concession will be the icing on the cake!

(22,143 posts)Having him lose is has more impact than Obama winning. We will be dodging a major bullet if things go the way they should. Four years ago I was elated, this time I will be relieved.

(13,485 posts)I have no feelings for seeing anyones defeat. I am certainly glad to see Romney's policies hit the dirt, but I don't care about Romney personally. I'm more for seeing Obama in the movers seat.
One overall thing I would like though.... to not see Romney's face ever again.

(2,872 posts)I was in Bountiful for something last Spring, and was surprised to see more Ron Paul signs than Romney signs.

(101 posts)a lot of Mormons who have never been involved in politics their whole lives, have been donating, phone banking, and doing whatever they can to see a fellow Mormon in the White house. This has been going on since Romney was frist running in the primaries. I'm so sick of it!

...but it did surprise me to see so many Ron Paul signs last April/May. And Bountiful is super Mormonland.
For the record, I'm also a Mormon, but of the Northern CA variety and I'm an Obama lady, thru and thru.
edited for typing this when I was tired...clarity, baby!

(3,266 posts)so I'm already used to the joyful idea of that. Watching the rombot trying to compute that he lost, that he's NOT the "chosen, prophesied one" will be an exquisite pleasure. I'm not so magnanimous that I won't enjoy watching all that Koch and Adelson money, rethug scheming, and old white guy rage disappear into a steaming pile of nothingness, symbolized by the image of a redfaced, sputtering, bewildered romney.

(10,272 posts)If were lucky, it will get turned inward. The circular firing squad has already formed up over there, and (to mix metephores) the Knives are about to get drawn. I predict the comming bloodletting inside the GOP will me truly EPIC, one for the History books. Since it's a fight only the meanest of the bunch will survive, when the rest are well and truly dead, they will turn that level of hate toward us, toward what we have accomplished. I'm not really afraid of that, as I think it's a fight we can win. Again.
(on Edit) Yeah, watching Mitt lose will be nice. Watching America's Loons make shit up about why he didn't win will be even more fun.

(507 posts)In 2008, it was Obama winning. I didn't find pleasure in McCain's loss, although I was greatly relieved, and that was in no small part due to his VP choice. This time it's personal. I want to see the smirk wiped off the face of that lying, entitled prick.

(13,776 posts)I just love, love, love seeing our President with kids, especially, but with people in general. So, I am very excited about his having four more years.
But I have to admit, I am SO looking forward to seeing the faces on Mitt and Ann on election night. I loathe them both very much. And I loathe their supporters even more... oh, how eagerly I await their cries and lamentations. I think it's really important that craven, blatant lying not be rewarded. AND IN YOUR FACE, CITIZENS UNITED!!!!

(3,784 posts)..............is watching Rmoney's concession speech on Tuesday night and just giggling my MF'ing ass off. Since he's actually a horrible human being, and not nearly as classy as John McCain (whose concession speech I found to be very contrite, which impressed me), I expect him to be an A-hole right up to the very end, taking shots as he walks out the door. I honestly don't think he knows how to do anything else.
Truth be told, I about half expect it to be like a scene from an old Dracula movie, where Rmoney, kneeling, hisses at the crowd, pulls his cape up over his fangs and slinks away into the darkness.

(10,893 posts)just so the Republicans will be denied the satisfaction of victory after all the vitriol they've spewed about him, and how much they've tried to impede upward mobility among the 99%. Don't get me wrong--Romney is despicable, but he's just a puppet. The real "bullies with fullies" are the GOP congressmen and women, the talking heads, and the billionaire donors. I want to see all of them on the ground mourning on Tuesday night.

(10,272 posts)I want to see Mitch McConnell FED his own words by America's Media. I say, from Nov. 7th onward, as long as he lives, he should be referred to only as "The Failure. He Who Failed. That Which Hath Not Succeeded.
I want him tarred and feathered with that quote for the rest of his fucking life, and then I want it carved into the near-eternal rock of his Tombstone. "Here Lies Mitch McConnell: Father, Husband, Senator, FAILURE.
When I go to Urban Dictionary, and input Fail, I want it to say...
Like Mitch McConnell, as in:" Hey did you see that guy totally NOT pick up that hot girl? Man, he REALLY pulled a McConnell on that one."
I want him to have to try and Publically defend this Failure starting next Wed, and I want it to HURT.

Not to mention that Obama is the best man for the job and deserves a second term.

(6,278 posts)The distinction for me is that I'm not really interested in seeing him get any kind of comeuppance - it's more about relief that we've been spared 4 years of White House foolishness.
I'm actually not looking forward to Romney losing, in that I really don't want to listen to my RW relatives and friends moaning about the death of their religious and other liberties. Obviously there's a price to be paid for victory; I just don't get any pleasure from their reaction to a Romney loss coupled with the paranoid fears they've been force fed for the last couple of years.
