Holy head fake, Batman!

I don't think I've fallen for a move this obvious since I played defensive back in high school:

"The coming appearance by Romney would be his first since wrapping up the GOP nomination. It is also one of the most serious signs yet that his campaign views the state, which hasn’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, as winnable. Rep. Paul Ryan is visiting the state on Saturday."

Are fools gold for the Republicans. But Romney's desperate. I think they know they're probably gonna lose Ohio, which means they've gotta win everything else.

5. PA's tightened up this year. I don't think this is bluff.

I think it's a long shot, but with Ohio and Mighigan slipping out of reach, Romney is smart to start playing some wild cards.

8. I believe it's more likely that due to Citizens United they just have more cash than they can spend.

So, why not piss it down a dry hole? The last thing they want to do is to explain to their big-bucks backers that they didn't try to do all that they could. Hell, Bush spent money for ads in California in 2004 and got his fucking ass kicked in that state. It's the Rove strategy ... pretend like we're viable where we aren't and rely on a complicit media to do the rest.

6. How popular is former Gov Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin?

The last poll I saw showed him 1 point behind. Isn't it likely that the people that come out to vote for Thompson will also vote for Romney? And does Paul Ryan help or hurt in the state of Wisconsin? Overall, I could see a much closer race than is being predicted at the moment. Throw in Scott Walker for good measure. I wish I was as confident about Wisconsin as some pollsters.

Rove did this in 2000. Pretend you're winning, wave your arms around a lot, and your buddies on the down low try to steal the election. In No Carolina, the Rmoney campaign announced they were pulling resources because they had the state in the bag. Turns out they moved ONE staffer out.

Did I say kabuki theater? Pfft. It's bad puppet theater, at best.

The real quote from the same link:

"The coming appearance by Romney would be just his third since wrapping up the GOP nomination, and his first in weeks. It is also one of the most serious signs yet that his campaign views the state, which hasn’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, as winnable. Rep. Paul Ryan is visiting the state on Saturday."
