I was amazed

I know it's not a real indicator but... my wife invited me to teach her 5th grade class about the presidential election. I spent 75 minutes talking about the 3 branches of govt, how the electoral college is made up and then went over what it will be like on election night listening to the results coming in. At no time did I or my wife indicate our preference. At the end of the lesson we gave them note cards and told them to vote and fold the note card and turn it in. She will announce the results on election day.

What surprised me were the results. This is in anarea of Tacoma, Washington that is comprised of a lot of low information voters, folks who are quick to pick up Rush and Fox News themes.

The vote total was Romney 4
Obama 22

I know it's not an indicator, but it was gratifying.

1960, when we were in the 6th grade. Kennedy won. Then onto to junior high, where we followed politics but he was killed in 1963.
