Because FOX News has not found a republican version of Nate to make it look like Romney is going to win!
I guarantee that Fox News has searched high and low for a rightwing professor or rightwing statistician and asked them to come up with a counter to Nates numbers!
And I bet the answer from all of these people is "Nates methodology is correct!"
And I guarantee Fox News asked these people to some how cook stats showing that Romney has a > 50% chance of winning.
And I bet these professors/statisticians said "I cannot do that without looking foolish or ruining my reputation!"
You know this is annoying the hell out of the rightwing meda and if they could find someone to prove Nate wrong they would!
Since they have not found anyone, it makes me think Nate is right on mathematically!

(60,536 posts)quoting Nate as saying he was not going to vote in this election but, if he were to vote, he'd cast a ballot for either Romney or Gary Johnson. So, FOX's search for a righty wouldn't have to go too far.
I've been reading the exact opposite all along.

(31,849 posts)one "academic" that was taunted as having been able to "correct for the biases of the liberal polling outfits", including Silver. And surprise, surprise ... this "academic" had romney winning by a landslide. This "academic" was the talk of the fox/gop town ... until it came out that this "academic" didn't really have any statistical or polling background.
On a slightly different, but related, note ...
Yesterday, while on my drive home I forced myself to my local conservative AM radio radio network and caught beck's show. His talking point was that on election day, conservatives that haven't been reflected in the polls will magically appear at the voting booth. He supported this with what happened in Wisconsin in the walker race. The polls had wwalker up 3 points and he won by 9. beck thinks that this same 6% will re-appear on election day.
