They are just poo-pooing Romney's shameless, phoney photo op.

He was sending it to the Red Cross which wasn't the correct organization to handle that...he just wanted a photo op...he cares nothing for anyone except himself...sociopath.

I think the majority of people were referring to Romney's donation fake photo-op.

even my little town's food drive is organized. They even put a list up of what they need the most. With the masses amount of people now in need, it makes no sense, for any politician to take it upon themselves to decide that granola bars are what is needed.

coordinating with a service agency who can help you and will take the items.
Shelters are an excellent group to help in crisis, they will be inundated with victims. Contact a local shelter and ask what you can do, what do they need, then start your drive!

The red cross asks for money because they can then purchase what is needed, not try to sort, clean, and then decide where in a county or state to send what someone donated to the effort.

Sending goods to the East Coast from the West Coast makes little sense. Donating them to local shelters, food banks, etc. who need them and who may be seeing cash donations being diverted to help the most devastated area is IMHO a better use for physical aid. There's more than enough need to go around.
