I saw a friend last night who is a republican. Was kidding with her and told her not to forget to vote...and then kidded back, Oh wait...maybe you need to forget to vote.
She laughed and said that she was voting for Obama.
I almost fell off the porch.
She said...and I kid you not..."I can't vote for a Mormon. They want to take over the world".
Well....at any rate, I will take it!

(20,885 posts)Mormon dogma, including the "White Horse Prophesy" and the baptism by surrogate, and other secret practices and rituals might lead some to those conclusions. They are out to evangelize and convert everyone. Their model is very hierarchical.

"The White Horse Prophesy" is frightening. You can bet your ass if there was something remotely similar that Obama supported, blood would be shed.

(296 posts)My mom, a retired NYU Medical Center nurse is a supporter of unions, gay rights, and Obamacare. She loves Obama as a son and staunchly supports him, but she is livid over the paucity of real discussion of the issues and the religious intolerance in this southern Black church community. I told her better the Mormans than Obama's stance on gay marriage. We'll just be quiet for the next five days, accept their votes for Obama and deal with the ignorance after the election.
