How we treat the Earth is directly related to how the Earth treats us.

There's no emotion here. It's cause and effect, it's science, it's facts.

Those who deny, dispute, and even become angry over this notion are avoiding the inevitable. We are no different than any other living organism on this beautiful planet, our home, and we must take care of it if we want to continue to exist.

Why is that so difficult for people to understand? Because they might need to change their lifestyle, it might inconvenience them just a little? It might force them to give up some luxury for a common cause, a common mission?

I admit I'm just as guilty as most people. I am not a denier, I understand what's happening, yet I have done very little in my own realm to make a difference. Even though I want to, I haven't done so.

It's time to start, and the starting point is a frank global conversation about climate change. If we can't do that at least, then there really is no hope for our future on this planet.

A dirty environment is not good for any living thing! That should never have been rocket science. I remember my sister roller skating from home to school on the first Earth Day! It was all so hopeful!

One huge sadness that I have with the fallout from Sandy is the fact that Katrina was telling us and we ignored her and now Sandy hits the East Coast with all of the money and much whiter people and suddenly the MSM is hollering about Global Warming.

Let's get back to basics and clean up this planet that we have been taking a dump on for all of these years.
